IDLES haben die zweite Single aus ihrem neuen Album „TANGK“ veröffentlicht, das am 16. Februar 2024 bei Partisan erscheinen wird. „Grace“ ist im Gegensatz zur ersten Single „Dancer“ ein eher ruhiger, nachdenklicher Song, der zurückhaltend anfängt und sich nach und nach entfaltet. Er untermauert die Aussage von IDLES Frontmann Joe Talbot, das „TANGK“ ein Liebesalbum wird, wenn fast schon zärtlich singt „No God, no king, I said love is the thing.“
Der Song wurde gemeinsam mit Nigel Godrich produziert, der vor allem für seine Arbeit mit Radiohead bekannt ist. Ebenfalls Hand angelegt haben Kenny Beats und IDLES Gitarrist Mark Bowen. Und was Coldplay damit zu tun haben, erklärt Joe Talbot selbst wie folgt:
“The song came from nowhere and everything. It was a breath and a call to be held. The only words or singing that came from our sessions with Nigel and I needed it, truly. All is love. I joked that we were turning into Coldplay, then I realised I liked Coldplay, then I thought, ‘If it ain’t broke…’ Leave complaints below xx.”
