Nächsten Freitag erscheint mit „Back To Land“ das neue Album der Wooden Shjips bei Thrill Jockey. Das Album gibt es ab jetzt beim Guardian bereits komplett im Stream.
„Back To Land“, das neue Album der Wooden Shjips, ist das erste Album welches außerhalb von San Francisco entsanden ist. Der Umzug nach Portland scheint seine Spuren hinterlassen zu haben: matte, geerdete Töne wurden dem Sound-Reportoire hinzugefügt ohne den modern psychisch angehauchten Kern aufzugeben. Gitarrist Ripley Johnson bestätigt: „For Back to Land, we decided to look back a little bit, to let our childhood influences, mostly classic rock, seep into the sound of the album. Part of that came from moving into a proper home for the first time in years, in a new city (Portland), and getting all of my old records out of storage. Something about winter in the northwest encourages self-reflection, introspection, so that played a bigger part in the process as well.“
„Back To Land“ erscheint in Deutschland am 15. November. Nach Berlin und Köln dürfen sich jetzt auch Hamburg und München über Konzerte der Band freuen. Hier alle Live-Termine:
