Chrissie Hydne, ehemals Frontfrau der Pretenders, veröffentlicht am 6. Juni ihr Debüt (!) Soloalbum „Stockholm“. Jetzt feiert das Video zur ersten Single „Dark Sunglasses“ Premiere.
Chrissie Hynde hat ihr allererstes Solo-Album „Stockholm“ in den Stockholmer Ingrid-Studios mit Co-Autor, Gitarrist und Produzent Björn Yttling (Peter, Björn und John) aufgenommen. Es sind außerdem Neil Young und Tennis-Legende John McEnroe zu hören.
Das Album, 11 Titel insgesamt, enthält unter anderem die erste Single „Dark Sunglasses“, die am 23. Mai veröffentlicht wird.
Chrissie selbst fasst ihre Ziele in Bezug auf das Album so zusammen: „I wanted to make a power pop album you could dance to – Abba meets John Lennon“. Und sie fügt hinzu: „I think life is serious, and you should take it seriously, but in rock n roll either have a laugh or don’t come to the party…so much of rock n roll has become what I would call Glory Rock, with family values. It’s the irreverence in rock that was always the turn on“.
„Stockholm“ erscheint am 06. Juni 2014 und wird als CD / LP / Digital verfügbar sein. Das Album kann hier vorbestellt werden. Eine Limited Edition 7” von „Dark Sunglasses“ / „Tourniquet (Cynthia Ann)“ erschreint am Record Store Day, 19. April 2014.
